Low Volume in DAW & When connected to Overbridge AK always plays track 1 on top of selected track

Having an issue when connected to Ableton via Overbridge. No matter which track I have selected on the AK, track 1 triggers overtop of it, mucking up my sound and stealing voices. this happens regardless of whether or not I’m listening via my soundcard or the AK headphone output.

Once I unplug the USB the problem disappears. Is there some setting I’m missing or is this a bug?

Any thoughts? Thank you.

I’m guessing it’s down down midi setup. Possibly a loop somewhere.

Read the Midi Config part in the manual (p. 49). Walk though everything. Make adjustments if necessary. If you still have problems, tell us (in detail) how everything is hooked up - including the DAW side.

Cheers!

Thanks Carl. I changed output ch from auto ch to track ch and the midi input and output to just USB rather than USB+MIDI and it’s working now.

Yeah? Cool! Awesome when stuff has a rather simple solution. Glad you fixed it.

Hmm, spoke too soon, the problem is back today. Seems like a glitch because it’s inconsistently occurring and sudden;y appears when I haven’t changed any settings.

ALSO, the audio via USB to my DAW in extremely quiet. I have the official Elektron cable it’s brand new.

OK. So bring on the midi settings on both ends.

And the volume from AK can seems low on certain patches. But there’s plenty of headroom - raise the volume in your DAW if that’s the case.

OK I fussed with settings some more and this time unhighlighting “track” under Ableton MIDI preferences seemed to work. Hope fully it keeps working! Thanks.

That makes sense!

If in fact you were using Analog Keys Midi out (guessing on ch 1), then you were trigging track one from Live everytime you press a key. While at the same time the AK was using midi local to play the chosen track.

But.

I’m using the AK as a controller keyboard for several other instruments, so I keep the midi tracking on in my midi preferences. I do not, however, send midi notes to the AK from my Live set. I sequence the AK internally. Or play it live to audio recording.

Ahhh, ok yea I’m using the Akeys as my master keyboard in Ableton too but I do sometimes sequence it through Ableton, but not enough to deal with the annoyance of having tracking turned on. Thanks for the help.
