Machinedrum and monomachine gone forever!

Ordered from Elektron.se on June 16… waiting…

After 5 months of waiting, I finally got a shipping notice from Guitar Center for the Monomachine. I should have it within 3-4 days.

June 18th order here, just got an email from UPS saying that my MD (non-UW) was just shipped, and will arrive this coming Wednesday.

Weirdly enough, it also says that the order is being fulfilled by “Octatrack by Elektron”, so I might be in for a surprise when I open the box!

I got the same as well, and I have ordered MDUW on 16th of June directly from Elektron. Do I still have to hope for a silver machine in the box??

That’s just their UPS account name. I received a nice shiny silver Monomachine despite the odd name.

@samurairj @Juan @Lowagiash No worries: I had the same “octatrack by elektron” (and the same “oh no!” reaction) but in the box was the desired silver machine…

Ha ha I thought the same when I saw the postal order!
Mine arrived today and I’ve spent all afternoon digging in and having fun!
3 weeks was a long wait but worth it!

Best $599 you could spend.

The FM kick is awesome! It’s all awesome, wish I didn’t have work tomorrow!

Merry Christmas

Indeed. Try routing 8 LFOs from other tracks to that FM kick’s three parameter pages and buckle up!

Just about to ask the same thing , actually thought, maybe I’ll just go with it and check it out.

Glad to hear it is our silver machines, mines due Friday, I’m either going to fall in love or hate this thing, although I am expecting a love hate relationship really , which is fine.

Didn’t like my a RYTM after giving it 10 months of love, but the sequencer was top notch.

This isn’t going to be my main drums , but an abstract perc machine, my Yocto will lead the way.
Maybe I will let my Tanzmaus go for now, great machine but between Live , MD and Yocto , the Tanz may just end up sitting there.

Yeah, I didn’t even realise that the LFOs were freely assignable , this things powerful even by today’s standards.

Anybody recommend a good sub mixer for MD , I only have my little Yamaha project mixer left, maybe enough I guess, think it is 4 mono 2 stereo.

Play with the Ctl-AL machine if you haven’t already. That’s a great feature and what separates the MD from other drum machines as far as being an awesome performance gear.

Since using the assignable outs removes any reverb or delay send processing as well (unlike Rytm, where Send to FX is always an option), I’ve been using only 4 channels on my Qu-Pac. BD out of C. CH & OH out of D, and everything else out of the Mix LR out.

With that in mind, I would play with the routing first to see what works for you, then seek a mixer that fits. You may need more, or less channels, depending on your FX situation.

The one band eq, HPF, LPF, and pan… all per voice, makes it relatively easy to get a smooth mix out of the Mix LR outs.

I do believe Shift+knob is even better than CTL-AL, it’s so easy, just under the left hand, and a button far from “reload Kit” shortcut. Just feels so natural !
So natural in fact that it then feels weird this hasn’t been implemented the same way in the other machines…

was in guitar guitar in glasgow today, they didn’t get their final order from elektron so if i had stuck with them i wouldn’t have got my MD… that was a close one!!

I’m mainly going to be using it for live duties. Main out into the Octatrack with my bass station routed through the MD and my nord using the other stereo input on the OT. This leaves me a full 8 audio tracks free on the OT for extra perc, vocals and resampling etc. Been planning this for a while and gave it a good blast through my A77X monitors last night in the studio. It was all sounding rather phat and tasty
