Make Noise 0-coast

Yeah! If I remember right, you can even control the main (hard-wired) voice on one MIDI channel while controlling those two outs on another.

Yeah! And Slope too - at the same time, even!

Yup - MIDI A normals to the gate & pitch of oscillator, MIDI B on separate MIDI channel to the cv/gate outputs just below it. Brilliant!
There are several ways to pull out another ā€˜oscillatorā€™ - Loopop video shows them:

Also on the not got around to yet list - MPC Live 2 vs 0-coast, make some use of those 8x CV outs on the Live 2.

Yeah I will say the little gate envelope is great on the 0ctrl, great for really dynamic accents. I actually love stacking that onto the pitch cv for occasional little zap.

I considered getting an MPC One for exactly that purpose, though learning the workflow of a new (and complex) machine put me off it tbh.

I havenā€™t got to grips with this part yet if Iā€™m honest

Another pairing Iā€™ve been considering for my pair of 0-Coasts is the Subharmonicon, using the latter to generate paraphonic chords while sending out the sequences to the 0-Coasts to get the trio to play off each other. Gates and triggers cross-patched everywhere naturally. Even a DFAM would do the job. Or any semi modular with a built-in sequencer really. Maybe both Moogs

I think thereā€™s a lot of power in pairing up the right semi modulars.
There are some interesting videos of Dreadbox Erebus & Nyx together, both playing separate sequences and as 4osc single voice.
(yes, also havenā€™t got around to trying this yetā€¦ :weary:)

I can confirm the two together plus a Kraftzwerg II for percussive sounds and a 0-Coast wibbling out is one setup Iā€™ve not been able to unpatch for a good 6 months or so (with an occasional Lifeforms SV-1 for bass drones from time to time). The 0-Ctrl really pairs excellently well with the 0-Coast too, and one way in particular that it scores over the otherwise inevitable and excellent SQ-1 for me is the touch pads allow for some wonderful playability.

But I havenā€™t tried Erebus + Nyx as a four-voice yet either!

That might be true, although I have yet to hear anything from it that the microvolt canā€™t doā€¦ I think people donā€™t really show the poppy kinda Buchla sounds as much on the microvolt videos, but itā€™s can do them really wellā€¦ for some reason people just seem to try to make it sound like a 303ā€¦ but thatā€™s cool, the o-coast is phenomenal too.

That just seems likeā€¦ a waste of a synth like the Microvolt?

Some 0-Coast science this evening ! Itā€™s for you if you like the concept of the Subharmonicon but you have a 0-Coast

I think Iā€™ve hit the point where I have to accept that, as amazing as it is, the 0-Coast simply isnā€™t for me; time for something more east coast (like a KARP Odyssey module, for example).

Just curious why youā€™re not feeling the 0-Coast?

I realised that I actually only use it for making odd percussive noises and donā€™t really have a use for the kind of synth sounds it makes. I tend to go for the classic east coast analogue sounds of Moogs and ARPs which really isnā€™t playing to the strengths of the 0-Coast whatsoever. Rather than fighting against its nature to make it into something it isnā€™t it seems more sensible to switch it out for something that does that naturally.
