 I just meant Iā€™m not creative with the machines. I read a lot about how people need and use tons of lfos, donā€™t use samples and make their own sounds, and need a lot of stuff to make music.

My goal with making beats is to be as simple about it as possible and have fun. Nothing groundbreaking. Just fun

Under the project button thereā€™s a sample menu which lets you import samples faster and with more ease. You can then assign these samples to pads.

btw, killer tune like always !

Thank you! I think with some more digging (sound wise) they can get better. The MC has everything you need to actually mix (eqs, etc)

As for the sample import. Thanks for the tip. I think I need a ā€œcome to jesusā€ reality check that importing samples and building kits on the MC is going to be a little slower than what I do with a computer.

Yes itā€™s just a laptop stand but the MC707 fits exactly and at the back is about 2 inch overhang so your cables donā€™t sag its pretty cool for Ā£3 :+1:

I donā€™t know yā€™all. This thing is super sick. The more I dive into the manual and build my own kits, the cooler this thing becomes.

I did a test to make a quick beat with Ableton and beat with the MC707. Iā€™d say, it maybe took me a minute or 2 longer to get up and running on the MC707.

My point is, you donā€™t loss your flow or inspiration with the MC707 because of time and set up. But like I said, Iā€™m building a lot of my own kits - which are stored as projects. So I just pull my kick drum kit from one project and my percussion kit from another project- etc.

And a note about the ā€˜cheesierā€™ synth sounds. Iā€™m finding some fine tune detuning takes them from the realm of cheesy to techno-y

Ahah, yesā€¦ The tb03 is good.

Btw, the keyboard is new, itā€™s a swissonic 49 keys, is incredibly cheap and yet built like a tank.

Can someone confirm if the pads output midi? Iā€™m trying to play an external synth with the pads and they donā€™t seem to work. Iā€™ve tried a bunch of settings. Read on GS, they donā€™tā€¦

Thanks!

well ā€¦

Yikes! You have a lot of sequencing options there. Nice. You still liking the squarp?

yes. itā€™s my default sequencer, and itā€™s more sofisticated than any other sequencer i have, which is very cool for adding variations.

and euclidean patterns/fills in particular, of course.

I couldnā€™t use all of this at the same time !

in that particular rig at the bottom, Pyramid mainly modulates parameter via CC.
whatever sequencing tasks can be done by tone generating machines onboard are done onboard, since in 2019 MIDI still works at 31250 baud, so the more i can offload, the better.

in default rig (at the top), Pyramid sequences Tetra and additionally modulates 707 via CC.
