Missing right arrow key paint on new Octatrack

Hey guys, first time posting on this forum.
I bought an octatrack last week on thomann after I found them selling at 1077€ new (not B-stock). It arrived today, but I noticed that the right arrow key paint is missing. I’m guessing this is not usual, so I was wondering if the same happened to anyone, and if it’s reason alone to sending it back?

Maybe it’s the reason why they were selling this (and possibly others) unit at this price?

Thanks in advance

Definitely not a reason to reduce price, probably a genuine assembly error, the hassle of returning would be best avoided, I can’t imagine Elektron will hesitate in offering to send you the right button cap to put on in its place. It’s very easy to remove, but you have to have pliers covered in tape to protect the paint

You definitely want to get it addressed, that would drive me bonkers, but i’d rather do something like that myself than return it and have it handled etc

Welcome to the forum BTW

If you go to the support section on the Elektron site they can advise what’s best

I think it looks quite cool tbh. As long as operation is not effected. Maybe file off the other 3 arrows so it matches?

These things happen, my Kurzweil KSP8 has two Tempo buttons

They pull straight up, each button has a slot for the tongue on the button, it’s a friction fit

If it looks like some buttons are more proud or recessed than others it’s because they’ve been pressed into the slot less or more

When putting the replacement on, just do it gently until it aligns with tops of others

My A4 had buttons all over the place (from new) and I used to think the PCB was sinking, it was just that buttons had been pressed in too far during assembly

Hopefully Elektron will guide you through it, but gentle pressure from a pair of pliers covered in insulating tape will prise it up no probs if you pull straight up, then to replace press down using your finger

Happy to know this isn’t a big deal and easily solvable. If I manage to get the button cap, I’ll make sure to follow the procedures. Dont want to make it mad (even madder).

Cheers!
