The raw sound totally disgusted me and I got rid of it. Maybe I should have kept it, now I have an AH like.

Yeah, it doesn’t take much to get it sounding really quite good, but I really struggle with the hats without some sort of external distortion.
Try a yellow one, 2 sizes too small.

Damn, yeah I was quite disappointed with the Metal machine.
Variations are just too subtle.
The other machines are pretty cool and versatile.
For now I paired MC with Volca Sample (using MC sequencer). That way I can layer or replace some sounds quickly if I want, fast access to sample parameters, simple looper for Karplus Strong type / resonator effects. Smaller footprint than MC+MS.
Limited, but plenty fun.
Did you track the hats (or any other parts) separately and post process? Or just stereo mix through Cosmix/Acidbox I suppose?
Anyway, great stuff!

All one take on a stereo mix. All the hats need is some filth adding and I really like them. That’s why the cosmix is great, because you can control the amount of distortion on the high and low bands, so you can filth up the hats without the kicks destroying the mix.
