Model:Cycles

Congrats. Still waiting for mine…

This is exactly why I went ahead and bought the M:C, also because of the portability. I’m still getting use to the workflow of the M:C. For example it took embarrassingly longer than it should of to figure out how to get to the midi menus and it was literally right under my nose. It does have a slight learning curve to say the least.

I just don’t want to have to keep track of another dongle.

Me too. :frowning:

I’m fully up for learning a new style of Elektron box. The thing that always gets me is thinking you have it all down already. Like when I had DT and DN, I would always want to go to the base/width filter on DT and go ‘oh shit, yeah, doesn’t exist’. M:C looks fresh with the knob per function tho!

You’ll probably have it down within an hour… The only thing I overlooked was velocity fades using retrig but that’s because I didn’t RTFM… It’s incredibly intuitive and simple and fun. I don’t find it deep and I don’t think it’s meant to be though people obviously say ‘you can go deep’… nah not really.

Slowly getting into it now but yes I agree, it is a different box and I feel pretty slow
First thing I’m really missing is Mute per pattern but I did know about that. I hope we will see it in an upgrade.

Pro Tip: leave the adapter attached to the cable. Boom…cable. You need the cable to begin with right?

I tend to keep the adaptor with the synth since there are two standards. The BSP has one and the 0-Coast has another and I was confusing them when I left them attached, leading to frustration. This was more than a small reason I sold the BSP and decided to only play the 0-Coast with CV and Gate. I understand the Model:Cycles addresses this very issue, but I still dislike this design approach. I do like that with the M:S and M:C together you would only need a standard stereo cable to link them together. It makes a lot more sense in a post DIN midi world.

What we really need is DIN to 1/8” Adapters coming out of our OTs and A4s. Then all we gotta worry about is 1/8 stereo cables. But first I gotta make a meme about this.

If you’re handy with a soldering iron, you can make your own cables with no need for a dongle. I made a pair using some 1/8th trs plugs and a regular ole midi cable that I cut in half. The tricky part is getting the pinout right. Even then, it’s only a matter of swapping two wires of you don’t get it the first time. Just my two cents.

Trigless trigs, meet dongle-less dongles. Anti-dongles if you will. Or if Tom will.

I’m looking for a dongleless config for my triggless trigs.

Did i completely imagine that @Ess /Elektron release some syx. from the live launch over the weekend for everyone who registers their M:C with HQ?
It was a fairly hazy weekend and i might be being a bit of a doofus, but i can’t find any sign of it anywhere?
Your help would be greatly recieved.

I posted the syx for my Perfect Circuit set shortly after, it’s probably buried in some comment on the forums somewhere - so here you go:

(Bank B is the actual set, A is kinda random/unfinished)

@Ess
Bless you Skip!
Most gentlemanly of you.
And try not to drop any new machines whilst I and many of our fellow 'nauts are without income… that just would be a torture we simply could not bare! :mask::crazy_face:
STAY SAFE AND MAKE BEATS (but no machines for a bit) :v:
