That’s an AUDIO cable, not a midi cable. You’ll need to get your soldering iron out and re-wire it to make that work. But it might be easier to use an adapter that’s made for midi.

Hi there! I just figured this out when syncing my TD-3, but make sure you press the “Start” button after setting it to Midi.
