Monomachine external midi sequencing

Hello everyone,

I’m owning a Monomachine since a nice year now. And, with the time a Vermona Machine drum MKII comes in

I have a big question, how to use the monomachine to sequence an another drum machine. I’ve read the manual but I can’t fix this probleme.

If someone could help me it would be lovely

Tschuss !

I have only seen the manual for the DRM-1 MkIII, not the DRM-1 MkII.
If the MkII is like the MkIII, then you can send MIDI notes from the Monomachine sequencer to sequence the DRM-1.
Is your problem that you do not know how to send MIDI notes from the Monomachine, or that you do not know which note numbers to send to the DRM-1?

Hey thanks for the answer, my mistake ii’ve own the mkIII…

Well I don’t know if I don’t plug the good combination of midi cable, or if I don’t send the good note number to send… Or if I did’not have the good midi parameter to my monomachine, I’m confused cause I’ve try almost everything

Thanks in advance

Here is an overview of the main steps required:

In case you have adjusted the MIDI settings of the DRM-1 from their defaults:

[ul]
[li]Disconnect any MIDI cables from the DRM-1[/li]
[li]Reset the MIDI settings of the DRM-1 by entering learn mode and switch the DRM-1’s power off[/li]
[/ul]

Set up the Monomachine’s GLOBAL settings:

[ul]
[li]In the MIDI SEQ menu, set all the CH (channel) numbers to be (for example) 10.[/li]
[/ul]

Record a pattern on MIDI sequencer track 1 of the Monomachine:

[ul]
[li]Enter successive trigs with the note values in this order - C-2, C-3, F-2, B-3, E-2, C#3, F#2, D#2[/li]
[/ul]

Connect the two instruments:

[ul]
[li]Connect MIDI Out port of Monomachine to MIDI In port of DRM-1[/li]
[/ul]

Set up the DRM-1:

[ul]
[li]Switch on the DRM-1 in learn mode.[/li]
[li]Play the sequence from the Monomachine[/li]
[/ul]

The DRM-1 should now revert to play mode. You should be able to trigger to DRM-1’s sounds by sending the MIDI notes listed above (and D#3 and G#2 for open hi hats) from the Monomachine sequencer on any of its sequencer tracks.

All these steps are described in the instruction manuals for the MM and DRM-1.

Men, Thanks for this full answer !

When I’m in the studio I will do
