To be fair anything with Robert De Niro, probably my favourite actor

Love the end scene with God moving over the face of the waters by Moby

Heat, seen it a lot of times and still visit again every now and then and still really enjoy that whole stylised mood that Mann manages to create. It’s one of my favourites just because there are so many memorable really well executed scenes, and I like Pacino. A simple crime drama story done with love and style. And Elliot Goldenthal did some really good cues in there.

I’m angry. I’m very angry, Ralph. You know, you can ball my wife if she wants you to. You can lounge around here on her sofa, in her ex-husband’s dead-tech, post-modernistic bullshit house if you want to. But you do not get to watch my ‘kin’ television set!

Heat is brilliant as people noted above.
Michael Mann also directed many other brilliant m but my favourite lesser seen 2 are Manhunter https://g.co/kgs/q1jTeg
which gave us the FIRST Hannibal Lectur movie, and Thief
https://g.co/kgs/ZX9Xz7
which had James Caan in another very stylish heist movie.

Personally I think anyone who loves Heat, should also love The Dark Knight, which draws a lot from heats tone and style.

Don’t recall thinking much of Heat, but yeah, Thief and Manhunter are great. Also, The Keep is worth peeping. All three have some serious atmosphere. If you liked Drive also, it felt like it just ripped off the vibe of Thief.

There will be blood is fantastic. You really can’t go wrong with an upton Sinclair adaptation. The book is called “oil” if anyone’s interested. I’m surprised all of his books haven’t been adapted to screen.
Daniel day Lewis is always great too. I’ll happily sit through a bad movie if he’s in it. Crazy ass method actor.

Totally agree on Drive.
People might forget though that some would have been dragged along by the Mrs to see the latest Ryan Gosling movie, and been shocked at how great it turned out!

Daniel Day Lewis + Michael Mann = Last of the Mohicans. Wes Studi also an excellent baddie in a it.
Which reminds me of Apocalypto, Mel Gibsons brilliant cross between a David Attenborough Doc and a crazy action flick.
Which reminds me of Dragged across concrete. Gibson is still a badass when he wants.

Just about any Kurasawa film really. I cant think of many directors who has inspired so many contemporary directors. Also without Kurosawa, the heroes of Spagetti Westerns may have never been as cool as they are.
