See, most Fridays, my girlfriend and I have a glass of something nice and some nibbles in the music room. Sometimes she’ll mess with one of the Elektron boxes or play with Push, other times I’ll play some of my new stuff . . . Anyway . . .
I was thinking how we could maybe spread this idea and select a particular Friday where a number of us could take part. We could upload a short video from our location with a glass of something nice, the equipment we use and toast the health of those making music on a Friday evening.
I’ve never uploaded a video to this forum; I’m not sure how easy that step is. Also, time differences would have to be managed although we could start at 7pm GMT and people jump onboard when possible.
Is this idea feasible? Would anyone like to join the Music Room Friday?
We could aim to do it 3 weeks from today? Sorry, but I’m in France for the next 2 Fridays.
some peoples Friday evenings are another persons Tuesday morning.
but i do enjoy short and sweet footage from someones jam when they’re hitting a vibe, maybe just a thread exclusively of clips no longer than a minute, live phone footage from ones machine hovel.
It’s a nice idea but I think a lot of people don’t know what they’re doing on Friday three weeks from now and of those that do it’s an even slimmer number that can get the missus to take an interest in music, then an even slimmer number that actively post videos or even music online. I like the idea of non time constrained minute jams though and I’m sure a lot more people would be into that
I’ll get all excited; clean my room; get the lighting just right; wear my best clothes; brush my teeth; get my best wine glasses; encourage my girlfriend to wear something glitzy; and no one will turn up!
I like this idea but it’s been months since I’ve had my full jam station going, did not expect it would be this long. I’ll be up for it once I land another spot, set up, and get my guitar chops back after a few weeks of strummin…
Maybe Thursday or Sunday might be better than Friday though…
Fear not! I’m normally unpopular(I’m just as surprised as you, seeing how delightful I am)- so I can partake in this regular thing(on the 3rd next Friday)!
I was listening to a record called the neo-realist by savant. I read that the idea behind it was that each musician created their track without hearing the other artists work and then combined them all at the end. Made for some really cool sampling material. It would be interesting for nauts to do something similar. Imagine one person with a MnM doing melodies, one with a Rytm doing percussion, one with an A4 doing bass and so on then have someone put it through an OT and mangle it. Could be interesting
Great new Ryan.
It great to find other individuals who have freedom in their life for such experiences. We may be labelled “social outcasts” but when we’re pressing buttons on our Elektron boxes, kidding ourselves it sounds musical, and holding some cheap alcohol in our other hands we’ll see just who the sad ones are!
