Did you let the drone go all the way through the second cycle?
Make sure the tail of the first pass is done by the end of the second pass or it will be the same issue again…
First, I played the drone for 64 steps, then I started the passage on the 1, also ending on 64. Is this not what you mean? I had to do it in that order because playing the passage first results in its output being a lot lower at the end of the 2nd sequence.
I figured it out. I recorded the pattern in the first loop and the drone in the second and adjusted the synth volume knob lower for the second pass. This is a really nice way to record. I appreciate the guidance here.
