Noob question firmware update

If I want to update the firmware in MK2 MnM do I need the Turbo midi box or can I just use a USB to midi cable like M Audio Uno?

I did mine without the TM-1. It worked fine.

hmmm using C6 the Mono just sits there saying Ready to receive Midi upgrade

Is C6 Config setup correctly for the ports you are using?

I just redid mine with a USB MIDI interface. It worked fine. I don’t have SDS Handshake and Send SPS-1UW Name enabled though.

It takes a few minutes but you should see the status bad in C6 going the whole time and trigs lighting up in sequence on the MNM.

no such luck. the only flashing light is coming from the usb to midi cable.

I wonder if something else needs to be changed in the MnM? The midi works fine

How quickly should the Mnm lights come on when receiving sysex?

It must be a Mac Mavericks thing as it worked in WIn 8 fine.

There’s been an issue with C6 on OSX since Mountain Lion (maybe Lion as well, I never used it). Setting the delay ticks higher seems to work for me (at least on ML, still waiting to upgrade), otherwise any data I send to my gear never completes. Hopefully Elektron will look into fixing this soon.

Using the M-Audio Uno here. Monomachine OS upgrades have only been successful by using Midi-Ox software. No problem though with back-ups/sample loads/dumps etc with C6.
