I am still waiting for my savings to reach the price of the Rytm. In the meantime, I was wondering how the chromatic mode works regarding note lenght.
For example, if I had a chord sample and wanted to record a melody with it via chromatic mode, is it possible then to change the note lenght by holding the pads for a certain time? Or does pressing a pad basically places a trig for the sample at a certain point where it is played as a one-shot? If latter was the case, one could still change the note lenght via p-locking the sample end point, right?
If you set the hold parameter on the env page to AUTO, you can sustain a sound as long as you keep the key/pad pressed down. Depending on your sound, this will create a longer tone (or not if using a short nonlooping sample, or if using a synth sound which has a short decay)
