Hi guys, well im a happy owner of a Octatrack now and im trying to connect it with my Minitaur but just cant figure how. Connect it via Midi, then put some triggers but it wont play, am i missing someting ??!
Does someone has the same setup and can give me a hand please?
Not being nasty, have you read the manual? It’s in there in detail I’m sure, could be wrong.
OT midi out to midi in on moog
What channel is the moog set to? Observe and remember
Select midi on the octatrack
Select the track you want to control
Double tap the playback button
Turn dial A so that the midi channel is same as the moog. When ready.
PRESS DIAL A … Pressing confirms the channel, if you don’t press it doesn’t store and you’ll get no signal
Exit
Go to track and insert trigs observing the note is set low enough for the moog to respond. Moog only works at C3 and below? Can’t remember off top of my head
Check note length settings on octatrack are long enough to trigger , this set by simply selecting the playback page so you can see the notes selected.
well yes i read and saw a lot of youtube vids but im missing something…
maybe the Minitaur channel isnt right but i tryed to change it in Octa (1-16) and still nothing…
Also, set the Auto Ch to 1 (since the Minitaur defaults to 1 and you’ve already done what’s advised above - otherwise, it won’t work):
In the Midi menu, instead of Sync, select Channels:
Set Auto Ch to 1.
If you do this and also what’s described by J.m. it should work.
And don’t use a USB cable. The Octatrack doesn’t transmit MIDI over USB, only 5-pin MIDI. So make sure you’re using a 5-pin Midi cable, not one of them fancy USB ones.
Haha, nice with sampling and resampling your sequences, you can build an entire track just with the Minitaur. Nothing going on above C5, but who needs those high notes anyway?
