Octatrack (MK1) Sequencing Analog Four (MK1) Issues

Hi all,

Can’t seem to find a solution to this one.

Octatrack (MK1) is sequencing the Analog Four (MK1) and I’m recording into Ableton. The sound of the A4, however, sounds like it has some sort of sync delay, as it warbles when sequenced from the Octatrack.

Any ideas why this might be? I have checked the obvious settings in both MIDI setup menus, and am not monitoring the track as I am trying to record it (thereby avoiding two layers of sound).

Without further details then there are at least two categories of potential problem to consider:

  • unwanted MIDI information affecting the Analog Four, and
  • something unwanted in your audio recording setup.

So the first steps to troubleshooting are to ask:

  • do you have the same problems when the AF is sequencing itself?
  • do you hear the same problems when sequencing from the OT and listening directly to the AF’s headphone output?

Thanks, as always, for the quick response. I figured it out. The issue was MIDI being sent twice (once from the interface and then again by the Octatrack.
