OT as master clock + MIDI seq - do I need a MIDI thru?

I’m working on a project where I want to use my OT as the master MIDI clock, but it will also have to function as a MIDI sequencer for my Blofeld. The problem with the Blofeld is it doesn’t have a MIDI thru port, so from the MIDI out of the OT to the Blofeld it’s kind of full stop from there. The two other machines I’m going to be using for the project are the MD and the DSI Evolver.

I know I could always use the MD as the master clock, but I’ve read it’s a bit jittery or unstable compared to the OT? Not sure if it’s true, and I might just end up using the MD as a master clock in the end, but either way, let’s say I want to use the OT as a master clock for the other two and as a sequencer for the Blofeld - what would I need to accomplish this? Some sort of MIDI-thru box, or do I need a full scale MIDI patchbay thing?

Am I right in thinking that a MIDI thru box could do the trick?

Edit - this thing will probably do the trick.

Why not try the following MIDI connections?

Octatrack OUT to Machinedrum IN.
Machinedrum THRU to Evolver IN.
Evolver THRU to Blofeld IN.

Set channels and settings appropriately, of course.

That should probably work, yes, thanks! I’ve just been a bit cautious with sending MIDI through the MD, as it sometimes responds to MIDI from the OT without there (in my view) appearing to be any MIDI-conflicts. But I’ll give it a go!

Have you changed the base channel in the MD to something besides 1-4?
