OT as mixer: Mono Signal DIR to both sides?

Hi,
if I want to use the OT as a mixer (besides other things of course) for a mono signal on input A, can I set this A to DIR to the Main out? So far it´s only heard on one speaker of course, because the DIR out is stereo. Is mono possible?
Or do I really have to use a thru to get this mono signal to both speakers (I woudnt need effects/sampling on this channel, just want to replace a mixer)

Thanks

mono-> stereo is only possible with the Thru machine method.
DIR simply mirrors the inputs you use.

Not sure this is what you’re after but you can merge/sum the inputs, so that’d put the mono signal across both main outs

This sounds interesting. How do you do that?
What I want is to put up to 4 mono signals via DIR to the Main Output and still use all 8 tracks for OT sounds (no thru). Right now, via DIR, every mono signal is only heard on one side, because the DIR is only stereo.
You think your way of merging/summing would solve that?
How do you do it?
Thanks

Only way to sum is with a thru machine.

You can get away with using 2, instead of 4.

get yourself a couple of y leads or adaptors (if it’ll fit) & the opposite type and do the merging externally - easy enough if you’re handy with a soldering iron to knock up a bespoke ‘loom’ - probably easier getting(inserting) a cheap patchbay which allows you to do all that merging/duplicating !

wow, this sucks!
