Hi! I am about to go for an octatrack mk2, being a Digitakt user.
One of the big reasons for me is that there are the 2 dedicated effect slot per track. this is something that I miss on the DT, having only master FX. but as far as I understand, the filter is also in one of the 2 fx slots.
So it is not possible to have a filter, delay and reverb on 1 track? this is about the basic thing that I use a lot on most of my sounds… making mostly ambient and house grooves.
So did I miss something? is there a filter somewhere in the machine outside of those 2 fx slots? is there a workaround?
Delay and reverb effects on Octatrack can be used only on second fx slot. That means, you’ll have to either use two tracks with neighbor machine, as @CarlMikaelBjork suggested above, or e.g. put reverb on master track.
Yes and like CarlMikael is saying you just use a neighbor track to get 4 effects. That already gives you a lot of combinations and you can always set another of the 4 PARTS to the next pattern which allows for a completely different setup of effects and assigned sounds. Then you can switch to another of the 16 available banks in that project and you’ll have four new parts in each bank to configure as you wish. There’s so much you can do!
Neighbor tracks are the way as mentioned but you’ll loose tracks. If you go for resampling, there’s ways to resample all of your tracks at once without stopping jamming even…
