OT Feature Requests Thread (active)

I did get some passable results last night with all of the mentioned tricks, but in the end I just sampled the loop and the chords into a DAW & made the loop there. Such a frustrating omission from Elektron.

Parallel option for neighbor track: send pre-FX audio to neighbor with out muting current track

being able to link tracks like on the MD would be sick. especially for MIDI tracks- it would make programming big chords way easier among other things

Please a decent way to get rid of clicks.

Threshold sampling like DT and Rytm.

Delay compensation to match ā€œdelayedā€ incoming audio (for example, my DN and Rytm go to Ableton and, from there, to the OT, but I canĀ“t use the OT to launch samples because of the audio latency geneated by the whole chain).

Canā€™t you solve that problem with track delays in Ableton Live?

I have the kick outside the OT and that track has a track delay, but I need the trigs of the OT to sound a bit later, I canĀ“t make the rest to sound earlier.

Is there something I missed?

I have a ā€œperformance modeā€ and a ā€œproduction modeā€ in Ableton, depending if I want to hear what comes from the OT (with itĀ“s matching Kick track) or the sound outside the OT. I assigned a key to switch from one mode to the other.

It would be great to use the samples I have in the OT, now IĀ“m only using it to apply effects and resameple.

So, it would be a setting to make all trigs to actually happen some ms after. One can dream!

Seems doable using same source for 2 tracks.
Copy/Paste the track and change FXs.

T1 Thru, FX1 = A, FX2 =B
T2 Thru, FX1 = C, FX2 =D

Possible with swing. It can delay all trigs in you put swing trigs on all steps.

Yes. The simpliest/best for me to reduce clicks is to set attack to 1, but it doesnā€™t work in all cases.

Of course I can duplicate track, but what about random trig conditions for example?
Looks easy to implement, and there are a lot of space on neighbor track settings page)
I think itā€™s useful parallel processing simplification.

NEI conditions on the 2nd track.

But yes, new features are welcome. What annoys me is that Neighbors are still active after a pattern + part change till you trigger the track with a track trig or trigs 9-16.

Iā€™d also like amp page parameters to be active.

I would like to be able to affect scene only for a specific trig.

Sorry, another workaround! :pl:

Itā€™s possible. Scenes have priority over plocks.

Ex :
Track VOL = 0
a trig plocked to VOL = - 63
Scene A : no scene lock on VOL
Scene B : scene lock on VOL = 0
Moving from A to B increase the plocked trig VOL to 0

Also possible if other trigs are plocked with the same parameter, using an lfo depth as offset, same principle.

I was reading on the limitation around MIDI tracks not being able to have overlapping note lengths, and I noticed the following update in the 1.40A release notes:

Added an option to select if note length should be recorded or not while inputting notes in the MIDI sequencer. The option is located in the PERSONALIZE menu.

Seems that thereā€™s at least some development around MIDI note length. I wonder if there are any plans on implementing overlapping note lengths like in the A4, or having an option to auto apply ties between sustained notes when inputting notes during live recording from a midi keyboard.

Not sure to understand. If itā€™s related to external synth slides, there is a Legato parameter, theoretically taking ā€œoverlapā€ in account.

Waw thanks it opens doors!

Oh sorry, I meant ā€œtiesā€, rather than slides. Iā€™m thinking of the way the new Korg SQ-64 handles note length / sustain.

Thanks Sezare, I didnĀ“t think about swing, I hope the delay is not higher than the swing amount.

Regarding clicks, IĀ“m having to use a much higher attack (sometimes 13, 17ā€¦) and reducing hold and release as well.

In Live you can use positive and negative track delays, so instead of delaying trigs in the OT, you could use negative track delays on the other tracks so they sound earlier. Might be Iā€™m missing something, but I thought different amounts of track delays for the kick and the other tracks should work?
