As per the title, I would like to hear the samples in the audio pool, off the cf card before loading them into the OT. I can do it on my MPC, but can’t figure it out on the OT.
Thanks
function+yes I believe(!). at least that would work with the audio editor
[Function] + [Enter/Yes] when in the file browser.
Great!
/thread! Lol thanks!
Actually one more, so I don’t start a bunch of newb threads!
If I have a couple of loops I,sampled that are cool as they are, so let’s say I want to use them as a chorus for example.
But then I want to create a verse and intro based on resequencing slices of said loops, should I use 2 different parts? One with the slice mode off and one on on those tracks?
options would be either different parts, additional machines (at the cost of a track) or a different bank. I would go for the latter 2 as I never got into using parts (they do share the trigs)
So new part and new sequence possibly. Thanks
Sorry pattern!
You can also use a simple sample lock from the pool, if it is used only once e.g. for a long sample.
So I can duplicate the same sample? Or lock the slice mode on and off?
There are so many ways to do things on the octatrack it’s a little much!
No, you cannot lock the slice mode.
And I read again the conversation, I think I misinterpreted what you said earlier…
So…
The simplest way to achieve what you want would be IMHO
- use the slice mode
- create three slices : one for the intro, one for the ending, one for the main loop
- default slice on your track would be the one on the main loop
- when you want your intro, you can just lock the slice number and voilà
Using slices is cool because this way you may also set a looping point for your loop, and no loop for the other slices, if it’s what you’re after.
Amazing! Thanks
