It works with your normal soundcard also, so leave your regular soundcard setting in ableton Preferences… you can use both overbridge and normal soundcard within ableton…
Making elektron gear into vst that receive audio
once you have the plugin loaded in one ableton channel, add another new empty audio channel and in this channel choose digitakt or digitone as audio source. down below in this selection menu (above the channel fader) you can select the different tracks of the machines… if you want only the separatr tracks, you might have to mute the plugin channel audio…
it is also described very good in the in the ob manual!
@all: seriously, people rtfm!
I think reading the manual for this complex piece of software should be a no brainer for everyone who wants to use it.
Think about it: It took the folks at elektron a huge amount of time and effort, to develop overbridge. If you are truly thankful for their work and want to benefit from it for your own workflow, you should at least the take the time to do your research using the provided resources. I find it almost disrespectful, to not invest a little bit of your own time and work, especially if someone has spent years on working on something, and was clearly struggling at times.
I guess, it was / is a huge challenge for them as a whole company. So I just want to say thank you to everyone at elektron who helped to get to this point.
btw. i have ar and a4 (mki) and ob works great for me on win 10 with ableton live…
Manual? Say what?
I d rather complain here that OT didnt get OB. And why not MD, MM and Sidstation while we re at it?
Whenever the Donkatrack comes out
Ive been using the most recent beta without issue… so this morning I installed the official OB 2… Now overbridge does not recognise my Rytm or Heat. Ive tried unistalling and reinstaling as someone else mentioned… however uninstall does not actually uninstall. After the ‘uninstall’ I tried reinstalling and are given the option to repair or uninstall again… tried repair still no joy… so pissed off.
I have projects Im working on that where running the most recent Beta no issue that I now cant complete.
Congrats on finishing but I need help here fixing this asap.
Try uninstalling again it took a while for me also to completely uninstall.
Try take device out of overbridge mode then put back into overbridge mode
to help recognise when reinstalled… my projects were ok afterwards
Trying for the third time now
It took like 3 maybe 4 times. restarting over and over… it will work eventually, was definitely more difficult than other installs
You ARE waiting for you computer to reboot on its own right? (Not asking to be a jerk)
The uninstall has no prog bar or any indicator that it’s even werking (I think it needs something) it sits with a black screen for so long…I can see being tempted to boot machine might happen.
Not saying you did that…just checking all avenues.
After upgradе to the full OB2 release and Os 1.50a my rytm cant be recognized. I am running a macbook pro with High Sierra. It also doesnt work with the OB Beta anymore as i tried different options, but with no success so far, any thoughs about that?
Did you use the uninstaller +reboot before installing?
Sure i did uninstall-reboot-install-reboot about 3-4 times with no success. After that i tried with downgrading OB, but still the same problem occure.
My Digitakt not can not be recognized as well))
Got it going after the fourth re-install
Thanks all
I’m late to the party and haven’t been around here in months - been focusing on recording/mixing/engineering other people’s music far more than writing or recording my own recently - but I just wanted to stop by and give my thanks to Elektron.
I had a MD which I loved to death, but came back to awareness of Elektron around 2015 when the “it’s not just a simple looping device” contest was taking place. I entered and got more out of my MD than I ever thought possible in the process, but was completely star struck by the sounds coming out of the AR. It was around this time that OB was being talked about a lot, and I saved up and got on board with my own AR. Unfortunately I sold my MD to do so, but that’s another story. So it was the promise of this DAW integration combined with the sound of the AR that brought me here. I also picked up an AK.
When OB arrived, I had a pretty good experience with the initial builds bugs and all. I saw Elektron take an unimaginable amount of heat in the time following, honestly some of it deserving. I worried about their ability to deliver on this mountainous task, even though I was among the lucky using it with few problems. Each build got better though, and now here we are with a truly elegant piece of software. I absolutely love it.
So thank you for having the vision and sticking to it!
