Panning on Thru Machine (Solved)

I am having trouble getting panning to work on a thru machine. I have my MD main outs connected to input C and D. I verified with headphones in the MD I can pan. I set my thru machine to C D (not C+D) and when I pan left I see C light up on the OT and right I see D light up. However the sound remains centered but the volume does drop a bit. I then play with the BAL in the OT Amp section and it really has no effect other than a slight drop in volume. If the MD is hard panned to lets say the left and I change the OT balance to the right then the sound goes away. It would seem the C D signal is being made mono. I read that the C+D setting makes them mono but C D should be stereo. What gives?

The drop in level in centre position suggests 2 signals out of phase (polarity).
Are you sure the leads are plugged all the way in at both ends?
Try testing both leads one at a time to be sure.

If they’re fine, have you disabled scenes to make sure one them isn’t over riding your settings?

FX settings are worth a look too as is Master Track if your using one.

Derp! I am currently on a six channel mixer which isn’t what I normally use. I had to use two mono channels for the OT and it looks like I didn’t pan them, lol! This also solves a few other problems as I thought some things I had made before didn’t sound quite right.

I’m still new to the OT so I was sure I wasn’t doing something right on the new gear. I did find out about the A B/C D vs A+B/C+D so that was helpful anyway, the one with the space is stereo and the one with the plus is combine to create mono.
