Perf(ormance) issues (not that kind!)

i went a little crazy w/ the performance, just trying to get a sense of what it can do. at some point i tried moving into the MASTER FX and doing adjustments there.

around this point the performance stopped taking parameter changes. MASTER FX tweaks were accepted, but then everything just sorta stopped accepting.

i can still play it though.

anyone else run into this?
glitch? error?

lame video of the destructiveness of a simple groove. tangent of what i was doing when it all_happened.

thinking maybe there is some artificial ceiling/limit, i have counted, i have a total of 48 locks.

solved.

it appears there is a 48 locks per kit. note NOT per PAD.

example:

pad 1 holds 24
pad 2 holds 22
pad 3 holds 2

you can hold no more for that kit.

and yes, this is documented in the manual. (no, i still won’t RTFM).

w/o a master filter this seems VERY small.

the manual says:
[ul]
If, for example, the TUN parameter on the SYNTH parameter page of the BD track is locked to a value of +24, the performance macro will, when engaged, perform a relative increase of the TUN setting of the track Sound between 0 and +24, depending on the amount of pressure applied to the pad to which the performance macro is assigned. 0 if no pressure is applied, 12 if medium pres- sure is applied and 24 if maximum pressure is applied. [/ul]
this doesn’t make sense to me because the range of the 2 knobs are different.

the TUN(e) parameter on the SYNTH parameter of the BD machine is measured in terms of to –64 to + 63
the perf(romance) macro range is -128 to +127
anyone understand how these ranges interact?

It is designed so that you can cover the entire parameter range with a performance macro. Lets say you have your drum sound tuned to -64. If you map a performance macro to the TUNe parameter with an offset of +127 you cover the entire tune range.

“Lame video” that I find very interesting! Thanx for posting you experiment!
