Phasing between sounds

When I assign SD hard, or any sounds that use a noise generator, to all four of the lower pads, I get a constant phasing between the SD2 sound and RS3/CP4 sounds. I don’t get any phasing between BD1 and SD2, or BD1 and RS3/CP4.

It’s almost like SD2 and RS3/CP4 use the same noise generator (or samples?!) but BD1 has its own…can anyone confirm?

Has no one noticed annoying phasing between their snares and claps?

I don’t quite get what you mean by “phasing”
SD2 and RS3/CP4 are their separate voices, so they should not affect each others sound at all.

I mean phasing, like phase shifted, as if both sounds are using the same white noise source, but one with a tiny delay.
Confusingly, this morning there is no longer phasing between any of the sounds…

I see, strange.
And this happened when triggering tracks at the same time or any time, randomly?

I noticed that with the filters of the MachineDrum ! That’s why I sold it !

Did you tried to hear them separately and mute/demute the trig of the other one while still not making it hearable at any moment to well hear the interacted initial sound ?

Or you only heard it while there was all the sounds present ? If yes, that could be only natural (=unavoidable) audio interactions.

I was triggering sounds on the same beat. I dont think it was the filter, at least the filter was open, and both set to low pass. I dont know if it happens when sounds are triggered offset/randomly. Maybe itll happen again and i can tell you!

Oh, of course I’m sure those are not the AR filters which produce that. They are hardware so should each have a well separated signal path.

I’m guessing the MD issue was because all the filters use the same DSP (and filters uses a lot of DSP resource, nah?).

Phase issues can also occur in the analog realm, especially with filters the phase of a signal always gets altered.

The initial question was, if those parts share the same digital noise-source (noise is digital on the AR as well as on the A4/AK)…

Yes, I have heard phasing too. Haven’t used the rytm enough to figure out what the variables are yet. Reminded me of the way the DRM1 MKIII behaves due to voices sharing the same noise source. If the RYTM uses digital noise, then maybe there will be something to tweak to fix it.

Interesting. I’ll have to try this out a bit… After messe though! :joy:

R u using the main outs?

Yes

try using the indies. or pan 2 one way, and 3+4 another. c what happens
