Was thinking about this, actually if everyone keeps using DT/DK to refer to the Digitakt then pretty much any other acronym will work for the Digitone. So doesn’t really matter if we don’t settle on a consensus here.
imho the most important goal is abbreviating both digitakt and digitone in a way that makes it immediately, intuitively clear which instrument is meant. distinction without doubt.
i support any pair of abbreviations that accomplishes this.
DTakt
DTone
This is really hard. Elektron should just give the Digitone a new name
Dave
Dave’o
Gavin
DN
Not a word. Clearly distinct from DT
DTK
DTN
Makes sense no ?
My DTK is waiting for DTN
That’s what make sense for me
TN for Tone
D.I.G.I.T.O.N.E.
(not a complete sentence)
DTK
DTN
(This is a complete sentence you silly forum.)
DN is the abbreviation we use internally.
Digitone - DTN
Digitakt - DTK
or
Digitone - DN
Digitakt - DK
Not a fan of DO or DE
D1 …
or D! as little brother to A$ instead of A4
DN
(SO happy this is what Elektron uses internally also!)
If Simon says so, then I’m OK with DN…
Seems like we should go with what Elektron uses since they made the little boxes anywhoo
D1 makes sense. It’s also clever
DN
My votes with Simon… (DN)
But part of me thought if they all start with digi and there might be more, than maybe Digitakt is D1 and Digitone is D2, next digi device D3…
