i’m having some problems while uploading my drum sample library to AR +Drive. It is about 900MB of drum samples.
In the beginning it was all ok, “turbo mode” was working fine and 200~300MBs where uploaded pretty quickly, but later something has happened. It seemed that my AR started to write the uploading files too slow and not keeping up after the pace of C6. So uploading process was stoping again and again. Then i tried uploading with no “turbo mode”, but again, especially when it is some short samples (like closed hats (10~15kb) my AR was stoping upload process because still C6 was sending files one after another much faster. And it bothers a lot, because if i send a collection of hundreds of files after the drop of upload i have to check manually which ones where uploaded successfully and which ones where not to be able to continue uploading again.
I’ve also checked “auto ch” in MIDI config to set no ch1 as it is disturbing AR writing speed (was mentioned in Cuckoo in his AR video tutorial). My MIDI IN and OUT is set to USB only as well, so i don’t have any idea what can be an issue here…
Please help and advise !?
This is a known issue. Some people have problems some don’t. I personally find it’s hit or miss. I’d say 50% of the time when I upload a ton of samples it fails at some point.
I’m not sure why they went with the C6 method instead of the drive method like on the OT, but they did :\
What I end up doing it batching my samples instead of trying to load a sh!t ton at once.
well, i tried that way too, but it fails again when theres some small files in a batch… still C6 is faster than my AR.
and uploading files one by one takes too much time, especially when there is hundreds of files.
damn…
strange that this problem appeared suddenly after i already uploaded hundreds of MBs quickly and with no problems:/
same exact thing here…
i did not install any new programs or anything
when i first got the AR i made a post about the transferring like “i think people were overstating the issues”
but now…many times…i must do one at a time
C6 is really weird. if you have a list of samples in it and one is uploading and you HIGHLIGHT another sample on the list in becomes a CHIMERA of the two
lol
Ticking “SDS Handshake” and “Use Extended SDS” fixed it for me.
C6 Manual says also regarding the delay time (See “Configure”):
“Time in milliseconds between each package when sending MIDI out. Increase this number if you have problems with transfers not making it over to the other side. Typical amounts should be in the 5 to 50 region.”
