Programming notes in edit mode (not live playing) w/ controller

I haven’t tried this before on my Analog Four, and I can’t figure it out. I want to program chords in with an external controller, but I don’t want to live play them. I want to program in using the edit mode (solid red LED) by holding down a trig and entering in a chord. How do I do this? There’s nothing in the manual or settings that I can find.

I know I can do this manually using the Analog Four’s keyboard and editing notes across more than one octave in the Arp page, but it’s way easier to play larger chords on a keyboard.

I might be completely wrong here, but I think I remember reading that using the Auto Channel will allow you to do this.

That’s right. A4’s “Auto Channel” is set to 9. So just set your keyboard to output MIDI to channel 9.
