Project, banks or no difference?

Hi friends,

Wondring if anyone has an opinion or even better, a fact based answer on this.

So have been using banks A through H for different songs. A different song on each bank using patterns 1 through 16 as different steps in the song. This is all under one project.

Is it better to utilize all the banks on one project in this way, drawing from a large pallet of samples loaded into the project - or is it better to have a different project for each track?

Have a niggling concern that having so much going on in an active project might effect the digitakts functionality. Or worse still, crash the system over time.

Thoughts?

I fill my projects up with patterns and havโ€™nt noticed any problems.
As for how to arrange your projects, just do what works best for you, although if you want to use a unique set of longer samples for every song/idea it could get a bit crowded in the project ram, so bare that in mind. I started off cramming as much as possible into each project but prefer to spread it out a bit more now, gives you lots of room to branch out and makes locating ideas a little easier too.

No, it does not affect the performance in any way. Fill it up however you want.

Thanks folks. Good to know.

I have a couple of songs in each bank. Means I can play a whole set without having to stop and reload projects.

On all my gear I set one bank per song, and have 16songs per project. I name pattern 1 of eack bank as โ€œSong No1โ€, etc and so far it has been easy to not get lost.
