Renamed folders through computer - OT not reading

Hi
I’ve renamed my main SET folder while the OT was connected to the computer through USB disk mode.

Now the OT can’t seem to recognize the set. Is there a fix for this?

I did reconnect the OT via usb disk mode and all my projects and sounds are there, so I’m not panicking just yet - but how do I get the OT to re-read the set?

I also tried naming it back to the original folder name but no luck through that.

Thx

thx, but this is where my set is not recognized. Basically it is missing from the list of sets. (I only created this one so the only set I can see is the ‘presets’ one).

Are you in Demo mode?

Power Off, then power on holding [No] to exit demo mode.

Otherwise what did you rename the Set to? A Set is nothing more complicated then a folder; that’s it.

So if you renamed it to something “funny” maybe the Octatrack is not recognizing it.

Generally though; it would just say “No Set Mounted. Please Mount One” after a name change.

was not in demo mode. Yes I agree, this is what I thought - a simple folder structure. but it just disappeared from view in the OT. I backed up the contents, created a new set through OT, and then dropped the backed up contents into the new set - so I’m rolling again.

I had that very kind message this morning.
For my birthday. :slightly_frowning_face:

Time for a new card and Octazip?

I checked the card on my computer. T**he original PRESET set folder is still there, but with the last project only. No audio folder. **
All other projects (many) are “gone”.

And my card is still almost full.
I didn’t connect my OT to a computer yesterday, so maybe it happened while I turned off the OT before full CF loading.

I could open the PRESET set by creating an AUDIO folder in the File Manager.

I used Easy Recovery before, but I’m not sure to find it. Any free pc software recommandations to recover missing files?

Sorry to hear that, but happy bithday nonetheless!

Did you try RecoverX from Transcend? https://fr.transcend-info.com/Support/Software-4

I’d try once, if not succesfull I advice not to try again and again, that might make things worse, but seek help from a data recovery professional.

A CF Card is a CF Card; so if you have corrupt segments on the card; it won’t be able to be read… which would give those kind of errors.

New card? Maybe.

OctaZip? Always.
