Is this Synth out of production cause i cant find a new one. Can we expect that Roland produce again some units? it’s a bit strange because it only appeared in 2015.
The 06 has been MIA for a while now. Originally the boutiques were pitched as limited edition and slowly the older ones have been disappearing.
mhmmm maybe i need to hurry up and get a sh 01a before it also disappears
take your pills
Short lives lived for some of the awesome little modules, noticed the other day when i wanted to buy a tb-03 and couldnt find a new one. luckily bought a couple because these units are definitely are going to skyrocket price, am i right!?
They were always meant to have a limited run. At one point Roland was being very clear they were limited edition, then as they added more to the line up they stopped announcing so clearly that they were limited.
are you talking about the tiny ones like the JP-03 module?
If you are asking me, yeah I’m talking about the little ones like the jx-03.
im talking Ju-06 Jp-08 and TB-03
Think these 3 were discontinued a while ago.
Yes those are all the same line. And all originally pitched as limited edition. If you google promo articles for the ju-06/jp-08/jx-03 they are often referred to as such.
The a-01 and vp-03 also seem to be rather scarce now too.
im seeing brand new in box tb-03’s selling for over 750$…
Wow, that’s a ridiculous price
If your in the states Sam ash says 350 online for a tb-03
luckily scooped one up on reverb for 350 flat. ended up buying an extra to sell.
the Jomox MBrane was discontinued a while ago, i was confused as to why, seeing as how it is actually a really funky machine. As another E-Nauts user posted, it isn’t exactly ultimate for directly “snare-like” sounds, and yet for general arrays of different perc. sounds it’s really usable.
anyway as regards the Roland Boutique line, I would be highly surprised if they didn’t keep on manufacturing the se02 for a looong time. Want bass? se02 provides. Love that thing. But then again, Roland stopped manufacturing the Juno 106 and that’s an amazing synth. I guess fluctuations of popularity are a built-in “feature” of markets, commercial products, manufacturing timelines.
Damn!!! I did not know that they were limited … I been noticing that they were not on Amazon but I thought it was just not in stock currently. Well, I ll be damned… Maybe it’s a way to promote Roland’s cloud service
IIRC 5000 units for each model, which is quite funny considering it actually makes them ‘rarer’ than the original machines, which all had over 10000 units produced , even poor sellers like the 303 and 909.
But don’t buy things just because of rarity, buy them if you think they are awesome, I happen to think they are, and I can take a few ‘but they’re toys” jibes from “internet synth experts” and “analogue purists” whilst I enjoy the sounds the boutiques make with my inferior ears/taste/budget
Sonic state did a good review on the boutique stuff and found that they sound almost identical to the original. I don’t get people that complain about the ‘sound.’ I do understand complaints about form factor though
