I’m looking at picking up either the rytm or octatrack pretty soon, would love to get some insight into the differences of each ones audio manipulation engines. Which capabilities is the rytm missing? Etc.

If you are looking to produce around long samples a and control other devices go with the OT, you can use samples on the AR but it is a way to augment drums. It really depends on your production style, type of music you want to make and the other gear you have.
Also look around the site, this question has been asked many times and review those threads may be insightful.
