Rytm, Grid, Aleph, Op-1 & 9U Eurorack. Boom!

Hi Guys!

Finally managed to stop messing with it and actually recorded something today, no detailed patch notes but give me a holla if you’ve got an questions.
Hope you enjoy it!

thats dope! really fantastic

whats the box next to the op-1

that’s a monome aleph, it’s a sound computer (kinda like max msp in a box…).
in this patch its running a delay scene called skitter which the op-1 audio is going into

How is the Aleph? It’s a bit steep price wise for me (I just wouldnt get the most out of it) but find much of the monome stuff intriguing. I’m just too lazy to spend the time getting the most out their stuff!

Cool track though! I always like it when folks do something a little different with Elektron gear.

This is absolutely fantastic. Is the monome working as a sequencer for the 9u? What’s driving the monome in this setup? Aleph, Computer, White Whale???

Wow! Very very nice! Great example of a modular and lots of gear making nice music and not just plink plonk sounds.

Can the aleph do card streaming like the octatrack?

nice rhythm! you have good taste my friend, but dat aleph

  • the aleph was an investment in a platform that i didn’t know was so expansive at the time as there were only about 5 examples online (i was an early adopter…), with there only being 100 of them in existence it means that the stuff that people are making for them is done so within the monome community which encourages sharing and humbleness, there’s none of the “noob” mentality of other forums…
  • the monome grid is running from one of the two monome modules i have in my case, the white whale, in this piece only serving looping trigger sequence duties.
  • at this stage no one seems to have got the aleph doing sample playback (that i know of…) unless its something recorded into the buffers which you can then mangle (i’ll try and get a vid of rytm/aleph/grid running the stasis scene…shit will blow you mind!)

the patch is still intact as i might try 2 multitrack it and then build upon it in logic/ableton to make a full track but i’ll most likely get bored in a day or two and tear it down…so ask any questions while you can whilst i can still answer them!!

One question i have though…is there some sort of convention that people use here e.g… specific thread, new thread, specific labelling, etc when uploading audio/videos?

lastly, thanks for the positive feedback, it’s nice to come into a new community and be welcomed as such. i will try and make sure i keep sharing interesting stuff with you guys.

word up!

also, what’s up with their web hosting on this forum?! makes me feel like i’m on dail-up the shit is that slow…

Thanks for your reply, very interesting!

I suggest using the “Our music” section of the forum to post demo audio and video or links to new releases.
You might make new threads there or use an existing thread if there’s something in common about the music.
For me, I like it when people give the artist name and a title of the piece or description of the style of music in the thread title.
Looking forward to you posting more.

great stuff. love seeing people with modulars actually making music!!!

Inspiring video! Great track! Need to check Monome right now… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
