thought it might make the sync between the Rytm and my Virus which i also sequence with the Octatrack.

It worked great when I was using that combo. I used it for live jamming via a MPD32, auto erasing of trigs by hitting other sounds than those that were playing on the same trigs before, and ‘normal erasing’ of Rytm sequences on the OT via hitting note numbers 128’s on the MPD32. Very efficient and smooth workflow for live use.
Btw, this workflow is even greater with the MD, because the MD can’t record velocities (or polyrhythms, or unquantized notes)… 
P.S. There was just something going wrong with program changes, maybe a bug on the Rytm.
