hello, i’m new to the elektron sequencer and i have a question related to setting tracks with different lengths. for example, i can set track 1 to have length 32, and track 2 to have length 64 no problem - track 1 just loops twice in the time it takes track 2 to loop once.
but if i set track 1 to length 32, and track 2 to length 48, something non-intuitive happens: track 1 completes it’s loop and starts over. then, when it gets 16 beats in, track 2 restarts, and apparently tells track 1 to restart as well. the result is that track 1 ends up playing its first 16 beats (first page) twice consecutively within the 48-beat loop of the pattern.
what i want to happen is for the two tracks to go out of phase, so to speak - so that the pattern as a whole repeats every 96 beats with a sort of 2-against-3 timing.
i figure this could be accomplished by telling the tracks to ignore restart commands from other tracks. is this possible?
