I use Octatrack as a master fx processor for my rytm.
I have set it up with a Tru machine and several Neighbour machines, as explained on page 139 of the manual. works perfect, and is really nice.
now I want to take the next step, to do something with crossfader song transition. I found videos about it.
Problem is…
for the fx processor, I need Dir=0. For transition, I need Dir is higher than zero.
The question is:
Is it possible to use one octatrack as a master multi fx processor, and as a loop player, to transfer with the x fader?
i don’t get your direct signal dilemma, but at least the crossfader can do the job of an average crossfader of course…
so check your min and max volume settings if you prepare scenes…
if you leave at least two tracks free to be not another neighbour machine (how many effects can a man/whoman have in use in one chain?..one neighbour machine and that through machine gives you four fx options, which should be more than enough for one signal path to process, if you have a closer look) you can catch your external signals at any time, stay in loop with this after simply fading over to it and get hands free to make deserved changes to the external gear to get prepared for the next to come…
so make sure you got two flex machine tracks routed on internal recoding to catch that through signals you got and make the x fader a simple x fader only for now and take it from there…
but if it’s all hardware live content you got there, why doing that dj thing?
you can program your progress straight away in first place and go way beyond simple standard crossovers…
