Switching between different chains

Hello together,

I studied the chapter about chains and songmode quiet often but I am still not sure if or this following idea would be possible:

I would like to create only two different chains which are NOT part of a consecutive song scheme. Let’s say I want one chain that repeats A1 A2 all over and the other chain would be A3 A4.
So in my song overview I had only two chains and could switch between them.

I am sure I misunderstood something in the manual…

Thanks,
Laurentius

Although they use the term “chains” when talking about Song Mode i think it’s a different concept than chains in Chain Mode.

What I mean is I think Chain Mode is more for live jamming, selecting several patterns to chain together dynamically and repeat forever until you select another pattern or several patterns to form a new chain.

In Song Mode chains simply are additional patterns added to the right of any one “song row”. It’s still a chain of patterns but it has nothing to do with Chain Mode. Does that make sense?

Now, since you can copy/paste Song Rows and set how many times they repeat this isn’t really any kind of limitation.

You could define your two rows and max out the repeat (not in front of my analog 4 right now so don’t know the max but it’s probably 99x)

So using your examples, the song rows could be:

row 1: 99x A1 A2
row 2: 99x A3 A4

and then you use the arrow keys to either the start of row 1 or row 2 to start playing from that position.

I wish I had my A4 with me to test this out but I think it is what you are asking.
