If I make a length 32 pattern that runs at 2x so I can get better resolution for fast fills, when I jump back to a length 16 pattern running at 1x, I can really hear the join. It’s not at all seamless, feels like there’s a tempo jump even though both are running at the project tempo of 110bpm. No external MIDI or machines involved.
Anyone else notice this? Should I be reporting as a bug?
Never mind. Of course this follows the rule I’ve found with the Rytm of “it’s a very complex machine, you’re probably doing it wrong” (with the corollary of “you’ll spend hours or days trying to find out what you did wrong but you’ll only find out 2min after you post a thing saying it’s a bug”)
Setting both patterns to a global quantize 127 reveals that the problems in my terrible live playing resulting in high-res microtiming misalignments at 2x …
