I have seen many threads on the forum about sync issues, but I can’t find a solution to my problems with my Elektrons and Ableton 10. I am very grateful for all tips and help.
Please forgive me if I have overlooked an obvious thread I should have read before posting (and please post a link).
Problem: Trying to sync AR and AK to Ableton 10 and using AK as the main midi-keyboard for my Prophet 6 module and VST synths. My whole setup is generally very unstable with lots of glitching in both recorded audio and playback in Ableton. Midi recording is also very unstable. Some times, when everything seems to work for a little while it glitches as soon as I move the cursor on the track pad or start to play something on AK in midi-mode.
When I connect AR and sync it via midi, it plays for a couple of bars and the suddenly stops
while creating lots of glitching i Ableton.
I am using AK as midi keyboard for my Prophet 6 and VSTs, but when I try to record midi notes Ableton often lags and create glitches so I have to re-record over and over again. This is very frustrating.
Things I have tried: Different buffer sizes, higher buffer sizes does not seem to fix the issues. Different midi configurations in Ableton. Turned of wifi and bluetooth, and all other programs except Ableton. Different configurations in the midi settings on AR and AK.
This is my setup: AR1, AK, Prophet 6 (module), Monologue. Sound card: UAD Apollo Twin. Macbook Pro 2015 running Ableton 10 on High Sierra (10.13.4) . Everything USB is connected through Overhub.
