Syncing Teenage Engineering pocket operators with AK

A new Picasso is born.
Very clear!

So it works again, not even sure it was my fault.
Without headphones, it is too sensible, it auto turn off, like if batteries were low. It did this before, now it’s worse.

I could modulate pots values with an OT lfo, alligator on the middle pin of pots. So I’ll try with low CV on this middle pin.
I already have a diy optocoupler so I will test both tonight.

It works. 3V. I used the PO35 because PO32 don’t work. Batteries > Time set > turns off when I press any key > time set > and so on.

The thought crosses my mind from time to time about designing a better control system for Pocket Operators, but I have too many projects on the go to undertake it at the moment.

I really like the PO’s but I find them very fiddly to use, because they are so tiny and I have fairly big hands, as well as the buttons and pots not being the best.

I thought about designing a breakout PCB which sandwiches onto the top of them and brings everything out to a header to facilitate easily adding larger better buttons and pots, the idea being to rehouse them a bit like the arcade button mod above.

Then I also thought about having everything button and pot under midi control, probably using arduino and some switch ICs.

Its just a pipedream really at the moment, but I might eventually come up with something, and I’m surprised no one else (that I’m aware of anyway) has designed a PO hack board.

Done. Midi to PO

Ha, ^ always the bridesmaid… :joy:

Might order one of those to try at some point, looks quite painless to change to different PO’s. Hmm.

I’m lost. What if I only want Clock Sync from the A4?

Edit : problem solved, bad cable.
