Almost a little embarrassed sharing the plinky plonky shit I come up after the run of tracks shared here over the past day or two but fuck it. Sharing’s caring and all that…
Per usual nothing fancy, but I’m having a blast feeling my way through learning on Syntakt. I really like the machine simplicity and still not felt the need to go near any of the presets. Having said that I still struggle with the chord machine so may check some presets to get a better feel for it.
Anyway, keep up the sharing - especially those with videos as believe me, they are great to watch and learn from. Big thanks to all.
Many thanks! I do need to broaden my styles a little though - I think it will help get more out of this magical box.
I grow more enamoured with Syntakt with each day. Won’t discount the criticisms levelled at it by a few on the forum but for me, it feels as though Elektron have nailed something special with this one.
Aaaand another one. The Syntakt is unstoppable. I really wish it had more tweakability, which is pretty insane given how different each jam I’ve done has been. Haha.
For a 1.00 release, this box is already amazing to me, and I finally purchased after fully reading the manual, watching reviews and tutorials, listening to a lot of Syntakt music and taking into account legit positive and negative feedback.
But if past is prologue with Elektron, we will likely see some amazing updates in the future. When I look at the initial releases of DT and DN (and their other products) vs where they are today, it’s amazing how responsive Elektron is in terms of customer requests and extending product lifetimes with their impactful updates.
I’m finding getting a decent mix on Syntakt easier than usual. Possibly even easier than when I’m ITB. Can’t explain why but it certainly doesn’t feel like it’s all on me. It’s like the box is doing some wizardry!
I just need to practice more with playing on the fly. I pretty much use pre programmed patterns and cycle through with limited knob tweaking. Always have done with Elektrons. I’d like to do what loads of others are managing and play around with parameters live. Just takes practice I guess!
This one is slow, simple minded, daydreamy and beatless.
Maybe more like a study than a track?
Providing some room for adding other instruments later on, but likely leaving it restrained.
Again recorded right out of the groovebox, no further processing.
I will probably do a proper Track with more variations, a better mix (Clap/Snare in particular) and more varied transitions by incorporating new Sounds or new Sequences. But overall, I’ve enjoyed this Jam and the Sound design. ST is amazing!
