This is my first beat with the Syntakt. I wanted to check out the melodic side of it because i wasn’t sure how to use it in my setup. I’m pretty pleased so far. Some minor gripes but that’s expected. No device is perfect.

Thanks for sharing! And again I’m very suprised of how good this sounds, even on laptop / phone speakers. Credits to you of course (it’s a lovely beat and sound!) but the coherence in sound quality of the Syntakt demo’s here is something that is quite noticeable.

Thank you! It took a few hours to get there. Fine tuning and everything.
I also have the feeling that it has a distinct character. That was my problem with the Model Cycles. I don’t know how many different synth sounds i can get out of it until i get bored with the sound. In my setup i can see it more as a drum machine that also can provide a few synth sounds here and there. But i’ll have to explore it some more to really find out about its sweet spots.

It’s pretty great as a mono synth too. There is a “unison” chord at the end of the list. I updated the acid pattern I posted earlier in the thread. The brassy lead/stab is the chord machine.
Reposting here for convenience so you don’t have to find it above

Awesome, I think Elektron should be paying you for such incredible compositions and demos of the device…
My ST may not be working correctly, doesn’t sound anything like that

Really dig how you are using the fx insert on this track, great sounds and composition too

Thank you! Your tracks are great too. Is there a compressor on it or did you do that effect with sidechain on the Syntakt?

What i noticed with the fx track, when i drop it in and out there are sometimes clicks occuring. That’s normal i guess because overdrive and filter settings suddenly change. But a crossfade function would be great.

Thanks! Most of the cool dynamics/pumping stuff is from the analog fx track. I do have a nice compressor on the main outputs that’s doing some parallel compression just to help even out some of that craziness. There can definitely be some hum/click issues with the FX insert at certain setting, but when everything is going it isn’t too apparent

Nice! The dynamic stuff sounds great. Gotta play around with that some more.

What parameters are you controlling with the controller on the right? I’m guessing slightly filter adjustments, but I’m not exactly sure.

As others have said, great tune. I love both the beat and the melodic stuff. I’m also a sucker for the feel of the intro material changing once the beat drops. Nicely done. Post more.

Thanks man! I’m mostly controlling the filter of the main melodic sequence here. And some faders for track volume.

It’s early but I’m calling you King of Syntakt. (That’s to say I really like the stuff you’ve made with it so far. You clearly hit the ground running. Well done!)
