Synthstrom Audible Deluge [inc. Open Source development]

Boards of Deluge really makes the Deluge sing, its beautiful.

Great Job again !

One of the many reasons my Deluge is at home here and wont go anywhere…

grab a small Mackie mixer, use the 3/4 out put to send the effected signal to your samplers inputs

All these packs sound so good, such an enviable skill. I’d love a deluge primarily for these packs alone.

Well I’ve read this thread twice now, and the fantastic review by @circuitghost.

Have one coming my way early next week

Quietly hoping it replaces my digitakt and possibly digitone. (Really don’t use the digitone to its full potential yet, so may have to keep that). Will keep the OT to see how they fit together, but I’m really looking forward to the Deluge, it looks like something I could use on its own and not feel I’m missing anything. If I can send stuff out to the SSLSiX > CB Blooper/Mood/Meris M7/Polymoon/ZOIA and then back into Deluge I’ll be a happy man (and ideally monitor what it’s doing.)

Maybe it could sequence my Lyra too via CV (not had much luck with this from the ZOIA yet, but not had the time to spend on it either)

The thought of having a few less bits of hardware is appealing!

Can. Not. Wait.

Thanks for the kind words on my review

I got a SiX, a Blooper and I had a Mood (no idea why I sold it, big mistake). Your rig will work

Deluge is very flexible in its monitoring, so live resampling into its input works just fine.

For character, it doesn’t beat the Digitakt. They’re very different and that sound of dust and dirt, the Digitakt does better. But for a clean and shiny sound, the Deluge’s 24-bit stereo recording is fantastic. And I certainly think the synth is on par with the Digitone, so that one’s probably in trouble now

Check out the Boards of Deluge soundpacks. They take the Dellie to next level.

Hahah. Well I’d not considered the Digitakt might be safe and the Digitone might not be lol. Have you just got another Digitakt @circuitghost? Or am imagining that I’ve read that on here.?

Got to cut down on some of my stuff to be honest as I‘m spend more time trying to have everything connected to the Six at the same time to save swapping things out - that seems to lead to more issues and less making music.

Those Boards of Deluge soundpacks sound fantastic and will be purchased as soon as Deluge turns up!

Right you are, got another Takt because of named character. It fits well with a thing I’m doing now, especially with the Chase Bliss fx. The filters, bit crush and overdrive through that compressor is quite unique. If push came to show, the Deluge would stay and the Digitakt would go. The Deluge sequencer, the way it works with clips and audio to build a song, it’s downright genius work.

Mine just turned up! Can not wait. Instantly nice to use and seemingly intuitive, even to a newby like me!

Better download some Boards of Deluge packs I guess…

Just received my Deluge a few days ago. Bought mainly for the unlimited sequencing possibilities. Here’s a couple clips of the 1st jam sessions. Its sequencing Digitakt and OB-6 (with some modular processing audio). Absolutely love it. Mad midi clips. Set up a saved configuration for the Digitakt. Stoked.

How are you guys dealing with file management on these (and the silly screen)? Just have a small amount loaded at any time?

Enjoying it very much. Strange how different what I make on this sounds and feels from what I’d make on an digitakt / tone. Very interesting.

Rename to as few letters as possible in the naming scheme, helps a ton when browsing samples. For example, as simple as it sounds, my main multi sample folder was MS then I broke down by instrument initials.

Simple is key!

I agree. I’ve been meaning to rename the Boards of Deluge presets to random four letter words.

Makes sense, thanks!

Any one found a good place for multi samples of a piano? Not used multi samples before but looks great!

Not really, but multisamples are some of the Dellie’s weaker points, so after a few rounds with that, I for one decided not to use the Deluge for that at all.

Best friends having coffee at dawn together.

Fair enough. How did you find it a weak point? I’m new to this so interested to know how it fell short and better alternatives

It’s the first time I’ve played with multi samples. I found some strings, horns and a piano. Pianos Not great and not worked out how to get the sustain pedal working with the Dellie yet. Some of the horns and strings weren’t bad actually, good enough to get an index down and find some nice chords to build on. Then I got carried away and added a load of saturation and reverb to them - so it wouldn’t matter how good or bad they were in that instants lol.

I just don’t think it handles expression very well, however that’s handled. You can just tell without even trying, this isn’t a piano. But it’s close enough for me to be bothered that it’s trying

Tho I should add, I generally think that so much gets lost in multisampling in general, I don’t much like it all, no matter the device.

Right, this is what today’s coffee jam led to -

I do love feedback from anyone and everyone and on anything, even this piece of music right here.

Love the Prophet 12! any videos of these 2 2gether?

*side question to the whole thread:
what’s your per Step p-locking of program changes for external synths workflow?
I know there’s a “clone a clip” trick for program changes.
cheers
