Tasteless, Colorless, Odorless, Somewhat Minimal Electronic Music

Well, you write it perfectly.

I can see how a phrase like that wouldn’t come across though.

This is what I perceive great and relevant. It’s not ‘banging’ and is my sweet spot of great techno - If I take the time to lay down in bed with my headphones on and just actively listen for an hour or so, I find this relaxing to listen to, even though I could dance like mad to it in a club

There we go! Steve Rachmad goes great here! He also spans both of the more rigid classifications quite nicely to illustrate your point. Fits right in though. While it is somewhat bangin’ so to speak, I also feel like it’s quite masterful and thoughtful.

Also, no reason anyone couldn’t dance like mad to most of the stuff in here. (especially at the correct volumes for such  )

Also, hadn’t seen that first one before. Nice!

This thread is giving me loads to check out. This is the kind of techno I crave but don’t know how to find.

Context changes the vibe of the same music a lot - techno all too often gets bracketed as ‘for the club’ (not saying by you!). There is nothing I listen to more though, and I’m never in the club anymore haha… I 100% know I’ll be listening to techno in 10/20/30 years time.

I think that’s why I get defensive :stuck_out_tongue:

Some of the DE9 Transmissions (Richie Hawtin or was it under Plastikman) would fit nicely here. Gotta see if I can dig some up.

I love some nice driving techno. I don’t go for the super-hard-super-fast stuff generally, but I do like some crunchy stuff once in a while. Paula Temple, Rebekah, etc. I don’t make it to clubs too much anymore, but every once in a while. Caught a nice Doc Martin record release party in Seattle a few months back, and danced for the first time in probably 20-25 years.

Oscar Mulero would fit in here nicely too!

Some Mills perhaps. 4Art being one of my favorites. Maybe some earlier Garnier?

Big fan of Scandanavian stuff… There is a distinct sound to the good stuff and quite a few excellent DJs.

Joel Mull is a don. Here is a mix of all his own productions

This set from Guy J you might like @J3RK

It’s slower and softer than I usually listen to, but I think it’s a very good set. Very subtly constantly moving. I believe people would call it progressive.

Wouldn’t call it Techno, but I like Guy J

Yeah I agree! But it’s where my mind went

It’s a bit techy. How about World Tech House?
