Finally something to put next to my brilliant pebbles

I don’t even … :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I thought it was a joke and until someone with no respect for money spends 15 dollars on a box of incense for its hipster-analog-vintage-boutique value, I’ll keep believing that’s a joke.

Their shop is fun to browse, prices are insane. Just a polyester strap with 2 plastic loops costs 59 euro. Or a wireless speaker that costs 100 euro more in blue than black or white. All feels very Apple like to me. Charge whatever, there’s always people willing to buy. They sold less iPhones but made more profit due to the higher prices.

I do wonder how many people have actually took the bait and bought a $100 bag of crystals lmao. They’ve got loads of funny shit in the home page, I think you can actually buy it though.

@Nevets yeah I’ve seen a lot of people making the apple comparison. I do like TE and think they’ve got some unique stuff. people weren’t happy when I suggested pocket operators not having a case was a bit cheap of them, People clearly really support TE as a company but the huge price hike on op-1s and selling $15 incense isn’t a good look PR-wise. If they can get people to buy incense for $15 more power to em, I just don’t get who’s buying this shit

I get the Apple comparison and I know they can nickle-and-dime a lot, but they’ve also developed a reputation for reliability and build quality, as well as customer service (in some contexts anyway, lol). As with brands like bmw you’re paying extra for dependability - the product will last you and if it doesn’t the company will have your back (whether that’s true or not is a different Q). It’s worth it for a lot of people to pay a premium for that dependability - just look at Elektrons prices.

But TE don’t seem to back their prices up with dependability. While they’re innovative, the premium for their products seems more like that of luxury sneakers - paying extra for looks/trend/hype.
