Tell me How Happy You Are with DN

Yeap, I miss the Randomise function too… Actually on all Elektron units. And the interface has the space. Menu Button (Filter, Syn1, Syn2, etc) + YES to randomise / NO to go back to its saved state. This can apply to other Elektron gear except Md and MnM.

Though, the Digitone - its pretty much the ultimate digital synth package for me. I just can not like it more than I already do! Love it to bits!!!

Ok. See. I was just thinking about this. The DN doesn’t have the uneven ratios. I couldn’t figure out what it was about it that I actually didn’t like.

With FM8 and Operator I can make some nice detuned techno sounds with the odd operators. Is there a way to do that with the DN? The detune parameter? I was trying it in the store the other day and I couldn’t get the sound I was looking for…

Can you provide a audio example?

The DN has uneven ratios in form of 0.25 steps which will give you a detuned timbre and yes you can use the Detune-knob to detune the operators A and B2 even further.

I love it - it does everything I need a small synth to do, and does it in style. The nostalgic sounds and modern feel are a perfect mix for my clumsy hands and ears! I’m hoping it gets a bit of a shot in the arm with the next firmware update - a random arp would be lovely - but short of a few crashes, I’ve never had a problem with it.
