I love the Hudson Broadcast.
From growl to all-out fuzz chaos. It’s never off when I’m playing.

I use a humidifier. I got it for the guitar, but I would keep it now even if I gave up playing guitar. Skin doesn’t dry out, lips don’t crack, and winter is generally more pleasant.
@Six06 dryness won’t damage your electric guitar, but fret sprout can make it uncomfortable to play.
Also, I’ve found that a roasted maple neck is pretty much unaffected by humidity changes.
I ended up putting a saving plan together for some of the more expensive ideas you all have shared. i ended up buying a mosky golden horse (a friend told me it a worthwhile pedal especially at $30) and an interesting fuzz pedal from hong kong. I’ll let you all know how these work out. Thanks for the tips
Fret sprout is definitely the most annoying thing to deal with in regards to guitars drying out.
I’m curious to see how my Jazzmaster’s neck handles the seasonal change, as it has a one piece solid rosewood neck.
I have 3 guitars with ebony fingerboards, which are typically not finished, while maple fingerboards typically are. I’ve put Dr. Duck’s Axe Wax on them and they seem to be holding up fine - no fret sprout or other issues. I chose Dr. Duck’s because it can also be used to clean crud off of strings.
Granted, my area is not known for extremes (high or low) in humidity.
Randomly stumbled on this vid of a guy using Jam Origin Midi Guitar 2 software to convert guitar audio to MIDI, Livid Guitar Wing for controlling Ableton scenes and stuff, and breath controller.
I use the same MIDI Guitar app (on iPad) to control the Digitone from my guitar. It’s pretty wild, and even works with trem, string bends, and legato.
The only thing I haven’t worked out yet is how to hold down a trig on the Digitone while I play in a fancy jazz chord.
This is how my pedalboard has been set up most commonly these days, and I’m really enjoying the smaller setup compared to the twice as large pedalboard I was using at the beginning of the year.
I like this arrangement a lot and sometimes patch in a delay, modulation, or dirt pedal, but this setup keeps me focused on my playing, which is a bit of departure from my previous reliance on delay pedals.
Empress Compressor is always on with a clean Fender setting on Iridium, Barbershop adds some occasional breakup, and Golden Reverberator is just magic on every setting
I like the broadcast a lot too check it out at 12, 18, 24 volts if you haven’t. it’s really flexible in a cool way.
Is that the Chinese Klon clone? Please, You must post a report.
Got to know how well it stands up to the $6,000 original.
I picked up one of these (the Klon clone) and this fuzz thing. the fuzz was more of an impulse since this seller seems to have great reviews and only a small stock on reverb.
i’ll definitely follow up when these each arrive. i’m skepitcal of the golden horse. i’m really excited for the A.C.P. fuzz tho. only time will tell.
At that price, it’s on my secret Santa list for sure.
I know, right? it should arrive soon and as soon as my guitar gets repaired I’ll let you know if it’s worth picking up. a friend claims to use it exclusively as a drive on their live gig, but I’ve yet to hear it. so we shall see
i’m not an expert on what klons sound like tbh, but this mosky golden horse is nice. i really like the tone and versatility of this little box. I found a couple videos of people doing comparisons on youtube and to me there is a good similarity. at the end of the day, a $20 pedal is still worth the money for a bit of fun.
the A.C.P. fuzz is a weird pedal but i love it. it’s got a gate and a feedback loop so its really nice for bluesy lo-fi nonsense. I’m enjoying jamming on it with the Digitakt channeling my best Nicolas Jaar/Darkside impression.
Just got my Simplifier today. Sounds good. Been experimenting and running Zoia in the effects loop and running guitar straight from Simplifier to Polyend Tracker, and doing the same with OT. I’m happy I can track guitars straight into these boxes now. I may even use it on my pedalboard and run it to a very clean amp or powered speaker. Worthwhile purchase, I gotta say.
I played for a very short while when I was a teenager, I never got crazy into it. Was in a couple of crappy bands. Got into electronic music and never played again.
My wife’s brother passed away a few years back. My mother in-law wanted to keep his guitars but I was the only music person she knew in the family. So I have 3 dusty stringy thingies. I plan to use them in some recordings someday.
Beautiful !
You have to !
If you need some advice to set up Octatrack to sequence stringy things in realtime, without any extra sample…
It’s really fun to play !
Those are nice. I’m loving that SG!
my second guitar was an SG. like, the guitar you get when decide your serious and know something about them.
this is not a joke: I have requested that she go in my coffin with me. I love her.
