The Guitar Thread

Yes, that’s where I learned that.

Also about his always-on turned-down Boss DS-1.

Everything is half price until the end of November. The ones I have tried have all been excellent.

I decided to try flat wound strings on my (only) electric guitar because of that video.
And i love them. Same set of strings for a year now and they feel and sound like new.

Hi guitar aficionados!

I have a Mexican Strat that I bought new in the 90’s laying (hanging) around. Might even have the invoice in a box somewhere.

I don’t use it, it can probably go.

It’s in really good shape, what would be a good selling price for this instrument these days? Looked around on Reverb but still no clue.

I checked the serial number, it’s made in Mexico in '94 or '95.

… will need some cleaning if I really want to sell it but for now it will do…

YES: I just found the whammy bar

My 30 years old Blade :

I bought mics to change weaker installed ones, but I can’t find them…

I’d be interested, one day maybe…
You’re living in Crete iirc?

I just found out that the MZ4… means actually 2004.

And now I remember … I swapped my 90s Fender Strat for a Honda Camino back in the day :joy:

Not in Crete full-time, we decided against moving there. We are in Berlin.

Its a generic Mexican strat, so not a collectable in terms of pricing. It looks clean enough but has got a sticker on it, so knock off a few quid. In the UK you see similar MiM strats go on Ebay for £325-375 and sometimes a little less. Not sure what the market is like in other countries.

Thanks for the info @MattLxx, came to the same conclusion.

I was just looking around the house for sticker remover liquid stuff,… no luck yet. Don’t want to damage the body.

Yes, price is around what you posted. Found a few in worse shape for around 450EUR plus shipping, that’s Reverb prices.

Shipping a guitar like this is no fun though, … I don’t have a hard case so will have to ninja stuff and triple box and what not.

OR. Maybe, buy a guitar and sell it in that packaging :see_no_evil: … nah no way.

If you have a guitar shop nearby, maybe ask them if they have a spare box?

Good idea, decided only to sell with local pickup as an option.

I bought a black Fender Stratocaster (with rosewood neck) from 1991 (mexican made) for around 350€ on Ebay Kleinanzeigen locally in Berlin a few years ago. I thought that was a very good deal. So yeah, 400-450€ should be good for the local market. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks for the info @hausland, still a bit in doubt but will just put it up for sale and see what happens.

Just got this little thing in a trade…. Man it’s awesome. Records super well and just sounds exactly how I want it to sound - no drive or compression pedals needed. It’s a “Fender Custom ‘57 Champ”.

I’ve got something else that’s much bigger, but the midrange from this little 8” is flipping amazing.

Beautiful! I have a Champ with an attenuator in the back, so I can crank it, and not make the neighbors hate me.
