I was chatting with a friend recently over our gear and sets. We both do live shows and would love to be able to transfer some old patterns to new projects without samples getting all jumbled up causing insanely tedious reorganization.
I’ve used Overbridge a bit but couldn’t find anything. Transfer doesn’t seem to have any feature close to this either.
I don’t think I’m missing anything, but I figured I ask the forum. Am I in fact missing something or is this a goal for the final Overbridge?
Ugh I wish. As far as I know there is nothing that currently that allows this. @mzero has written some kind of project manager, but It’s waiting on elektron to allow the digitakt to communicate that data
Indeed, I have completely written the software, with full UI for drag-n-drop pattern management within and between projects, sample reordering, unused sample management, and more. The only thing that’s missing is that the DT doesn’t have messages for getting at this data.
I used to have a demo up (with a simulated DT), but once the DT gave me access to the samples, I wrote the sample transfer app (crunch/elk-herd) and took the demo down.
I wrote it for the same reason @JunkRunner wants it: I need to manage my live sets! After a year and a half playing with the DT, I’ve got a dozen projects and several hundred patterns on it… I need to be able to organize them!
