Yeah, generative tools would be really cool! I was thinking the same thing a few weeks ago.
Arp would be ace (especially for external midi sequencing).
There are a few things that Iād like see but the most practical addition for me would be a base width filter on the analog machines - I wonder if that would be possible at all?
While I really like the analog sounds, they tend to eat up a lot of space in the mix.
This is something I wonder about. It seems like there might be two filters in the analog voices, because some of the machines, like one of the snares, has a resonant filter in the synthesis page and then the normal filter after it. My memory might be failing me, but I think that is how it is.
I think the interest of that slew parameter would be to save an lfo. You can already modulate an lfoās depth (sin/tri) with a random lfo to get a kind of random glide lfo, but if to want it to be smooth, it has to be set to Hold mode.
Ex : Lfo 1 = Sin/Tri, Trig mode, depth 0. Lfo 2 = Random, Hold mode, Dest = Lfo 1 Depth
I donāt think so, but this is possible with AFX track with hipass. Limited of course.
Btw keytrack + velocity mod feature on AFX would also be usefull for 303ish basslines, formantsā¦
Thatās the case of Noise machine, but I believe its digitalā¦
Hello everyone! new happy Syntakt user here, so deep and wonderful box!
I remember one great feature request I heard in a YT demo about having the possibility to lock track from being modified by the Control All function, that would be amazingā¦ but better than that would be having a per-track percentage control of this.
This way one could set it to 0 for locking it up, or having different amount of Control-All influence on each track.
Syntakt definitely needs more synth engines as it is called a synthesizer in addition to a drum machine! Absence of polyphony made Syntakt a no go for many but I still love it as long as it gets more synth engines and other features. Iām sure Elektron will be rolling out updates and new features as it is doing with Digitakt which is much appreciated by community. Keep going, Elektron!
I guess I just struggle to see what synth capabilities it lacks that more engines would make up for, (though I agree about polyphony). We have analog two oscillator voices with ring mod. Digital two oscillator engines, digital FM, digital multioscillator stuff with the supersaw and chord with unison. Really the only thing I see missing is maybe better physical modeling type stuff, and oscillator sync. I guess I feel like the syntakt basically covers almost all my bases for monosynth duties, and I often feel like the number of choices in there is already a bit overwhelming.
what would be cool, either as an update to the Digital two oscillator machine or a new 2 oscillator machine that uses samples as oscillators, imagine the sound design possibilities with single cycle waveforms (scw) etc, I know you can already use the Digitakt for this, but you can only use a single scwās in a sample slot, a dedicated machine in Syntakt with 2 oscillators for this purpose would be crazy good, imagine the sounds you could create modulating multiple scwās from a pool of samples via the lfos.
- Arp incl. different modes like euclidean etc.
- Polyphony
- Digital filter incl. bandpass
- Modulation with more sources and destinations (envelopes, pitch etc.), one LFO with several destinations
- LFO with non errate sync times and modes
- extended copy functions
- increased no. of effect types
- sampling
- synth types
- display
Conclusion: a fusion between iridium, peak, digitakt and syntakt would be great!
In order of what I favor most,
- New digital machines (Nord Drum2/3 style, wavetable, PI style, sample based, keyboard note input chord engine)
- SRR pre/post filter on digital machines
- Slides
- Assignable midi arp
- Additional FX such as plate, comb filter, chorus and compressor
- Neighbor tracks to allow LFO and FX sharing
- Polyphony
- Something more useful with mod beyond having 4 speeds of retrig on tap. Specifically adding A4 style playable plocks (cant remember the name of this one.)
With new song mode it is very important to have kits.
After a4 i miss direct jump.
Other is not so hot - compressor from digitakt))) classic congo/bongo machines
Iād love to optionally be able to route tracks out of the headphone jack. My compressor has a side chain input but itās useless to me since I canāt isolate the kick.
I agree, except a new digital physical modeling hihat/cymbal machine
Sure itās been said but having option of 2 mono in like on Digitakt would be great
Make it happen. You basically have one foot in the door already. āDear Elektron, you know what would make my soundpacks even better?ā¦ā
Think this is already possible in the settings
There is a Dual Mono setting indeed, but Digitakt and Digitone have individual settings for IN L and IN R (Level, Pan, Fx sends)
Yes thatās what I mean:) Would be really nice and I kind of think it probably will happen at some point but it might take some time
